Spring is finally here! I’ve been waiting for it for a very long time and I’m sure you have been as well. The birds are chirping louder and louder and the lawn mowers are back out. That’s the greatest noise ever. Now that winter is over, it’s done some pretty good damage to your garden. Everything looks drab and it’s time for that pick-me-up.
No more boring and dull garden walls and fences. It’s time to add some color and design tactics. Here’s how you can turn your garden from drab to fab.
If you like one certain thing, like birdhouses and you have a few of those hanging here and there, you can make a whole collection of them. Hang them on the fence, it’ll be more eye-catching that way. You can hang them all in a row or you can have some higher than others. If the birdhouses are colorful then it’ll be fun to add to your fence.
Another great way to turn your fence from drab to fab is by painting it. Not your usual one color paint scheme, but something a little different. I personally like flowers. You can paint different kinds of flowers on the fence using different colors. Another great idea that goes with this is to have your kids paint on the fence. Make a family day out of it and let the kids use their imaginations. They can also use chalk to draw on the fence and it can be a new design each week. If you like something a bit more crazy, again, you can use paint. But instead of using nice and neat brush strokes you can dip your paint brush in any color and throw the paint at the fence. This will leave a fun and messy polka dot look to it. If you’ve ever seen Blue Man Group, it will kind of look like that. Splotchy can be amazing.
These are just a few ideas on how you can turn your garden wall or fence from drab to fab. What are your ideas?
